A projector screen gives a flatter, brighter and more even picture than a bare wall. Pull-down wall screens are cheap and compact, fixed-frame screens are the flattest, tripod screens are portable, and motorised screens roll up and down by remote. Choose the size by viewing distance: the further you sit, the bigger the screen; bedrooms often suit 80 to 100 inches and large living rooms 100 to 120. Measure the wall width and the distance from projector to wall before ordering. Ceiling mounts and floor stands keep the projector steady and at the right height, so you stop propping it on books.
